NO Cavity Club

Today, Cooper went to the dentist for the first time. We finally had enough of the run around with our current dentist and decided that we would take him to the pediatric dentist (www.childdentkeno.com/) in hopes that he would actually like the visit. Daddy came and picked him up around 12:30. After a brief consultation, Cooper walked out with the dentist and left Daddy in the waiting area. A little while later, Cooper came out with a brand new "glow in the dark" toothbrush, balloon and a bag full of goodies. One of the items in the bag was the No Cavities Club certificate...YIPPEE!!! During his visit he had a cleaning, x-rays, and a fluoride treatment...the dentist said he did great! He was so excited to tell us about his visit and we were proud of him for being such a big boy!

At the movies

Cooper and Daddy went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks - The Squeakuel. His favorite part was when Alvin was saving the chipettes from Ion on the pocket rocket motorcycle and then they jumped on the remote control helicopter to make it to the show on time. It all ended happy.

I forgot how easy it was to spend $23.00 to see a cartoon.

$12.95 for 2 tickets

$6.50 for a small popcorn

$2.50 for some fruit punch

Having your son trick you into bending down and licking your ear - Priceless.

Brewer's 15-Month Check-up

On Friday, January 22nd, Brewer had his 15 month check up. At first Brewer was not very happy to be in the doctor's office, especially when Nurse Tammy told us to undress him to his diaper.

Mommy and Daddy both got death grip cuddles! Brewer weighed in at 23 pounds (25th percentile) and was 31.5 inches long (50th percentile). Doctor Gerlach says that he is not going to be as big as his brother (height wise not necessarily weight). The doctor was very pleased with his breathing and told Mommy and Daddy that they were doing a great job with the daily breathing treatments.
Here is a few pictures of Brewer at 15 months. In the one above, Brewer is trying on Cooper's Clark Kent glasses. But this Superman will not be without his gooker. Down below, Brewer is trying to fit inside the baking pan. Very determined little man!

BLAST OFF

This past week, Cooper has been learning about the Letter Nn and the Night Sky and Outer Space. Each day he has been doing a different project (space helmet and backpack are in the picture) in preparation for the "blast off" later in the week. On Wednesday night on the way home, he proceeded to give us facts about Jupiter. "Jupiter has a big red spot on it and that is a storm." And did you know that Jupiter has 17 moons on it. We were amazed at his recollection of that days group discussion. After dinner, Cooper and Daddy went down to the library to a book about Jupiter so Mommy and Daddy could learn more about Jupiter!

SNOW

Thursday, January 7th...It finally snowed!!! The past week has been freezing cold outside to the point that Cooper and his friends have not played outside in over a week. It finally warmed up last night and snowed all day long. Over all we had a good 6 inches of fluffy snow to play with. Cooper and Daddy had fun shoveling the driveway and sidewalk before working on the snowfort out back. Cooper was outside for hours that night. He did take a break however, so we could go over to Gg and Papa's for dinner...it was yummy. But then it was back outside for more fun in the snow. Cooper had the most fun when Daddy was taking him in the sled up and down on the sidewalks.
Our Vacation plans are moving forward too. Today, we were able to book our airline tickets for our trip to Virginia Beach. We are going March 31 to April 7. We are sooo excited! Now we need to finalize our "home for the week."

Surprise!

After work on Tuesday, January 5th, we picked up subs from Cousin's and took them over by Grandpa Steve and Grandma Karen's house. They were surprised to see us. Cooper and Brewer wanted to see Grandpa and to give him big hugs and kisses. Daddy helped Grandma take out the Christmas tree and we dropped it off at the drop off on the way home.

Grandpa Steve Is Home!

On Sunday, January 3rd, we received news that Grandpa Steve came home. We were all very excited to hear the news and we couldn't wait to see him. Daddy went with Grandma Karen to help get Grandpa Steve settled at home. Cooper made him a get well card and wrote "Poop in his Hand"...which is Grandpa Steve and Cooper's favorite line from the movie G-Force. Welcome home Grandpa!!!

Gabby Time

On January 1st, cousin Gabby came down to spend the day with Brewer and Cooper. Auntie Kris, Daddy, and Grandma Karen were going to go up to visit with Grandpa Steve in the hospital. Cooper and Gabby had a fun picnic lunch in the living room at the little table of macaroni and cheese and hot dogs...yummy. Then the two of them played with all of Cooper's new toys from Christmas. After Brewer woke up from nap, we all went up to Toys R Us to do a return and exchange. Brewer got a new slide, Cooper found two new Leapster games, and Gabby found a squishy ball. After dinner we played on the new slide and then had a huge sleepover in the living room. Cooper was sad though when he woke up to find Gabby was gone. The sounds of the laughter and giggles between the three of them were priceless and a great way to celebrate the first day of the new year! Happy New Year!
