The End of Summer Weekend

This weekend was Labor Day weekend, aka The Last Weekend of Summer. For us it was a nice and relaxing weekend here at home. Our first intentions was for us to head Up North, but the forecast + traffic was not going to be a good weekend. So we stayed home.
On Saturday, we went to Mick, Melissa, and Hayden's Going Away Party. They are moving to Australia and are leaving in a couple of weeks. It was a very nice gathering of friends and family.
On Sunday, we got a lot of "little stuff" done around the house. Cooper and I took a walk to Piggly Wiggly to get some groceries. On our way there he rode his bicycle with the training wheels raised. He did AMAZING, and went a couple of blocks with out falling. He is doing great. But then at one point he tried stopping and slipped off and caught his stomach on the handle bar. He now sports a nice scratch.
Today, we walked over to the park. Cooper was showing off his pumping on the swings and how high he can get. He even showed me how he can jump off the swings now!

Brewer is so impressed with his knowledge of colors, he could decide if he wanted to swing in the black swing or the blue swing. In the end, he just said, "all done."

Cooper showed off his Superman pose going down the slide. Thank heaven's Brewer did not witness this move...Mr. Monkey-See-Monkey-Do.

Brewer is all smiles going down the slide like a big boy.

Now Brewer is showing off his Superman skills, flying down the slide like a big boy should!

Hang on little brother, we are going down!

Brewer wasn't so interested in taking the pictures. Brewer was more interested in sitting in the puddle of water!

Like I said before, Brewer isn't into getting his picture taken...he just wants this thing to MOVE!

Then we went over to Gg and Papa's for a Labor Day picnic, with lots of yummy food and treats to eat. We ended our weekend by watching Fury Vengeance...lots of giggles and laughter were heard all through out the movie.

First Day of Kindergarten

Today was Cooper's first day of Kindergarten!!! He is attending Pleasant Prairie Elementary ( http://pleasantprairie.kusd.edu) and his teacher is Mrs. Kornder. Our first impression was a great one after meeting her at the Open House and we are looking forward to a great year of learning!

He had his first official first day picture taken inside Brewer's classroom at Extended Love. It was raining out when we left our house.

But here is Mr. Kindergartner right outside the school. Normally, we would meet everyone outside by the playground, but because of the weather we all crammed inside for the first day. Cooper walked in with Mommy and Daddy right by his side!

Cooper was being silly as we were patiently waited for the bell to ring.
And the name tag that Mrs. Kornder made for him to wear for the first few days.

But the silliness wouldn't hide the nerves for long. As soon as the bell sounded, Cooper clung onto me and wasn't sure what to do next. It was one of the hardest things that I've ever done, but I pushed him through the door, and told him to have a great day and that I would see him later. When I peeked in on him before I left, he was sitting on the floor curled up in a ball.
Yet afterschool, he was all smiles and said that he had a great time! And his favorite part was recess... imagine that!

Mini Golfing

Cooper had his golfing debut on Friday, August 27th out at Action Territory. We met up with Jacob, Cooper's friend from school and his mom, Sue, and sister, Caitlyn. This was the first time that the boys had done anything outside of school. Cooper picked out an orange ball, while Jacob had a blue one. We didn't keep formal score, but in the end, we all had a great time!
!
Here is Cooper with his first swing. I think he was paying attention to Ms. Carole, when she was talking about hockey. Cooper swings the golf club like a hockey stick!

The three amigo's...Jacob, Caitlyn and Cooper!
Cooper's favorite was when the balls would fall into the tunnels and go into the different levels of the green!

Renaissance Farir

On Sunday, August 22nd, we head over to the Bristol Renaissance Fair. What an experience!!! The fair itself seemed to go on and on and on...it was never ending to say the least. There was so much to see and do, we didn't know where to go first. The first show that we watched was the Mud Show, where we saw a three grown men, play, fight and eat the mud...that is gross! But Cooper was laughing right along with the crowds!!!
We took a break to watch a fire juggling act while we ate lunch. Cooper and Brewer shared a slice of pizza, while Mommy and Daddy ate a couple of yummy sandwiches. Everything was delicious and fair in price.

Cooper tried out Jacob's Ladder. He was a great sport in trying to climb the rope ladder, but had a great time falling into the pile of hay. Lots of smiles and giggles from him!

Cooper found this really cool play house in one area of the fair. Here he is sitting like a pirate with his sword. Both Brewer and Cooper got one and now we have sword fights here at that house! Cooper and Daddy did a great job painting them too!

As we were getting ready to leave, we spotted this Owl while finishing up our ice cream cones. We couldn't pass this opportunity up since Cooper declared that he was going to be an Owl at his Preschool Graduation! It took some fast pace walking to find Mr. Owl, but we did it and now we have Owl Boy!

Up North

We headed Up North for a long weekend, August 13-17th. We were out and on the road by noon on Friday and arrived around 5pm...a long ride, but we had to make a few more stops than normal because of our new passenger...Buster!
On Saturday, Randy and Cooper went up to Rhinelander to the fish place. Randy found a place up in Rhinelander that deals with a lot of salt water fish and coral, and it just happened so that they were having an open house. The good news of the day was that Randy won a Major Prize... an aquarium light that he had on his wish list! He was pretty excited!
On Sunday, the Sladek clan came over to visit. We had a great campfire and the kids had a blast roasting marshmallows over the fire. Great night...great company....great stars...
On Monday, we went over to Tom, Kris and Gabby's to play and chat. We had a potluck dinner before calling it a night again.
On Tuesday, we packed up and headed back home again. On the way home we stopped off to surprise Grandma Beck. We had a nice visit with her, although it was short.
