Easter Fun

On Saturday we held the first Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt for all of the neighborhood kids.
We started off with making bracelets and decorating cookies while the eggs were hidden all around the houses.
Frosting first....
...then into the toppings we go.  Fun Times!
Brewer and I dyed some Easter Eggs.
Brewer's favorite was the orange and mine was the lime green one!  Daddy liked the yellow one and Cooper was liking the orange one too!

Cooper's Concert

Cooper has been practicing hard the past few weeks for the Annual Orchestra concert.  We invited all of the Grandparents and Auntie Sue and Uncle Fred to join us in listening to the concert.
Grandpa was able to capture some awesome pictures of him playing, as we did not have the best seats in the house.
Awesome concert Cooper!

Sandy Ice

Grandma and Grandpa Beck came down for Cooper's Concert on Saturday.  On Friday night we went down to the lake in hopes to see the Super Moon.  However, it was too cloudy.
Instead we found huge ice blocks that were covered in sand!
The boys had fun jumping ice berg to ice berg, while Mom and Grandma watched nervously.

Cooper's Award

Cooper came home from school with 102 degree fever and immediately went to bed.  Upon going through his folder, I found his character sticker and award for showing improvement in his work.
I was so bummed since he was so sick and out of it to show off what he got!  We are still proud of you!

Lucky Outfit Reigns Again

Brewer wore the same camo pants and number 3 shirt that he has been rewarded in with a Character Sticker again today.  And again came home with another Character Sticker.  These stickers and rewards are a big deal as they get to run through the halls for recognition by all of the students at the end of the month! We have dubbed this outfit as the lucky outfit!
Brewer got ANOTHER character sticker....
for Showing Awesome Character by Congratulating the Other Team for a Win!

Faces That We Love

How can one not love these two???

Jujitsu Seminar

On Friday, February 13th, S&S Martial Arts hosted a Carlson Gracie Jujitsu Seminar.  Carlson Gracie Jr. came up from Chicago to give the group insight on Jujitsu and some new how to's for new moves.  The groups valued from his critiques as they rolled and sparred with one another.
First the kids went.  Mr. Antone and Mr. Gracie Jr. gave instructions and demonstrations of the technique to work on.  Then the kids were paired up to practice with one anther.
Cooper and Ethan are working together as Mr. Gracie is giving pointers.
Brewer and Robbie are working hard.
Another take down....
...and time to practice.
Cooper was given a stripe by Carlson Gracie Jr.

Now the big guys (and gals) play...
Dad and Joe worked together.

Valentine's Day

Both of the boys picked out candy arrows that we constructed together.
We used a Valentine Straw and a Dove chocolate Heart to make them.
Cooper picked out Airheads, while Brewer picked out Chocolate Bars...surprised?  You shouldn't be!  The turned out really cute and both of them were great helpers in putting them together.

Here is Brewer at his Valentine's Party!

Journal Writing

Mrs. Morin was proud of Brewer's journal writing that she took a picture to share with us at home.
It says "I like Maleyk because he plays with me."  Great Job spelling Brewer!

Brewer's 100 Day Project

Brewer was given a family project of finding something to count 100 of and to make a poster to take to school to share with his friends.  After much thinking, Brewer came up with ICE CUBES!!!  I tried to talk him into something tangible that he could take with him, but he was adamant that he was going to do ice cubes.  It took some creativity to figure out how we were going to get this done so all his friends could see.  This is what we came up with:
First, he lined up 10 jars.  10 items in a jar 10 times will be 100!
Then he put on gloves because the ice cubes would be COLD!
Brewer counted 10 ice cubes into each jar...
until he had all 10 jars filled!
He poured all 10 jars of ice cubes into one jar to show what 100 ice cubes in one jar would look like.
He made his poster with the pictures and took it to school to share with his friends.  His teacher loved his originality!

Character Sticker #2

Brewer flew into the van after school and took off his coat to display his new Character Sticker!  He received this for showing responsibility in the classroom.  Way to go Brewer!

Snow Day #3

School's were canceled once again for a dumping of snow late Sunday night.  All in all, we got about 15 inches of snow and strong winds.  The plows were having troubles keeping up with the constant fall.
The boys and I enjoyed our day together.  Did some shoveling and worked on some projects around the house.  Buster was having fun walking around on top of the new drifts.

Brewer's Character Sticker

Brewer came home from school on Thursday, January 29th with a Character Sticker!
While Brewer was outside at recess, a girl from another class fell down on the blacktop.  Brewer helped the girl get up.  The recess teacher, who happened to be his Kindergarten teacher, saw him helping the girl, and gave Brewer a Character Sticker for Citizenship for helping his friend out!
Good Job Brewer!

Belt Testing

Brewer and Cooper did their belt testing on Saturday, January 17th.  Brewer tested for his green belt and Cooper tested for his high green.  On Wednesday, January 28th, we were invited to attended the Belt Promotion Ceremony
Brewer removed his High Yellow Belt
Mr. Sherrick tied on his new Green Belt
